about us

Our History

The idea for Orphan’s Bridge came while several of the founders were working on projects in Ciudad Mante, Mexico. The group had traveled to Mante in July of 2007 in connection with the Boulder Sister Cities organization. Ciudad Mante is a sister city to Boulder, Colorado. This was a loosely organized group going to Mexico to see where we could help. The trip agenda was to bring needed supplies to an orphanage, set up housing for a group of students in nursing school and see what other needs we could meet.

Being there showed us just how wealthy we are as Americans.  We realized that just a small amount of what we have could help so many kids.  On top of that, we fell in love with the kids.  We were all deeply touched by the visit.  Before we left we were planning our return.  In fact, before we arrived home we had drafted a plan to start the non-profit organization that would become Orphan's Bridge.

Our plan was simply this, the non-profit would assist orphans and orphanages. We want to care for these kids. We want to enrich the lives and futures of orphans in any way we can. We want to give the innocent the opportunity to rise above the circumstances of their life and become what they want to be.
